33. Do Ho Suh

Do Ho Suh is another Korean artist who works astounds me. He was born in 1962 in  Seoul, Korea. He attended Seoul National University, earning his BFA and MFA in Oriental Painting. Suh furthured his education at the Rhode Island School of Design and Yale University in the United States.

Some of Suh's acchomplishements as an artist have be him, representing Korea at the 49th venive biennale in 2001; participating in group exhibitions at the guggenheim museum in New York, the Baltimore museum of art and the museum of contemporary art in L.A.; and those are not even amoung the major exhibitions.

Suh explores the dynamic between space, public versus private and my favroite strength versus numbers.

I really like how he has a concept for using repition, within his work.

One of his craziest works is titled Paratrooper. The strong male figure is holding hundreds of thin pieces of string, that connect into a circle in the wall. At a glace looks like spray paint, but close up, each strand is spelling words.

Cause and effect, is another dramatic installation by Suh.
