17. Peggi Habets

Every artist has their favorite medium to work with and style they prefer and for me I don't like using water colors and I don't like creating portraits. However, I have to give credit where credit is due, and Peggi Habets is a beast when it comes to both.

Habets is am award winning artist and instructor who works primarily in watercolor and mixed media. Her career in graphic design and illustration led her to calling as a portrait painter. Her studio is located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where she creates expressive, contemporary portrait of children, adults and pets.

Mikal

Mikal is my favorite piece out of her works. The facial expression is not flattering almost like the sun was in their face as the photo was taken. The hair is off the charts. There's color in every dread, their is movement and you can tell the hair is thick and full, I love it. Keeping the white background was a smart choice, all the attention is on Mikal. Letting the colors of the hair merge with the background is very appealing as well. Really, Really admire this artist for this painting, its amazing.
