I came across this artist, but couldn’t find much information on his history or any thing. All I could find was that his name is Marquis Leo and he is from Stockholm, Sweden. He has a website where he does whole sale of his art works. The way he uses color is different. The background is almost childlike, large shapes with single color filled in. The black sports figure with multiple colors, highlight shadows on the clothes and bodies of the figures. The tennis player below is very bright and brings to life the energetic movement on the figure. White is only used in the background to out line the colors, I don't like that aspect to much, wish he would have just filled the space with color. The colors are flat so it gives the feel that the foreground and background are all one space, which works in this piece, since the figure seems to be jumping. One thing that I noticed that was weird was the figure seems to be looking up, when the ball is below his chin. Over all I like what Leo does with color in his action shot sports figures.
