11. Akiko ida and pierre javelle

Artist have taken playing with your food to the next level. I did not know food art was so extreme. Akiko Ida and Pierre Javelle, husband and wife, started creating micosculptures on top of food since 2002. Their series which contains over 60 pieces is titled "Minimian". They take miniature scenes of humans in action and place them on top of food, in photographic diptychs. The works vary from sports, leisure and war-related scenes.

The diptychs include one close up shot and another zoomed out. The zoomed out shoot is very hard to see the details or really what the image is. As you can see the watermelon image, the zoomed out view the humans look just like the black seeds. However, when you zoom in, you can see their digging, almost the like the seed are gold. The detail in the figures and their movement is amazing. Each character is dressed individually and has there own tools, and all doing a different action.

The bikers going up the pastry, is my favorite. The figures are leaning forward as if they are struggling.
